Upal postpones annual terrace concert in January

It has been five years since Upal Sengupta’s terrace concert, Amader Chhade, has become an annual event for city musicians. This year, it is slightly different. Due to the ongoing pandemic and the subsequent logistic problems, the musician has decided to postpone the event. Usually, the concert takes place on January 3.



Elaborating the situation, Upal informed, “There are certain logistic problems. My trusted sound engineers and

friends

, Tenny (Abhijit Roy) and Sougoto Chatterjee are stuck in Mumbai and the US respectively. They know how to manage the sound of the concert so well that I would rather wait for them to come. Moreover, ever since its inception, the concert is hosted with the help of my numerous friends, who come from all over the world during the holiday season of December. They could not make it this year.”



According to the

Chandrabindoo

vocalist, the gig might happen later this year. “If all goes well, we will host it later this year rather than cancelling it altogether. In fact, Sougoto is planning to pay a visit as well. We will see if we can host it during that time,” Upal signed off.
