This Day Last Year: When Shreya Ghoshal won hearts with her magical voice in ‘Neel Digante’

Tollywood is thriving on nostalgia amidst the nationwide lockdown and here’s a happy throwback from last year when the song ‘Neel Digante’ from ‘Gotro’ became a massive hit among the music lovers on the day of its release.
The Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee directed movie piqued the curiosity of the audience ever since it was announced. And when the makers dropped the first song of the film – ‘Neel Digante’ – Inspired by the iconic Rabindra sangeet and sung in the melodious voice of Shreya Ghoshal it turned out to be a pure gem.
This song is Shreya’s second association with the director duo - Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee. The talented playback singer has earlier worked with them in their hit film ‘Praktan’.

The soulful composition of ‘Neel Digante’ is done by Anindya Chattopadhyay, who reunited with Nandita and Shiboprosad after ‘Haami’.
‘Neel Digante’ is a mesmerizing love ballad which is sure to grow on to you every time you hear it. Featuring the lead pair of the film – Nigel Akkara and Manali Manisha Dey, ‘Neel Digante’ is beautifully picturized and is truly a visual delight.
