The strains of acoustic guitar and koto filled the city auditorium as Kuniko Obani and Hiroaki Sasaki, better known as the Kuniko & Aki duo, enthralled the audience with their instrumental performances.
The event organized by the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata, in collaboration with Paschimbanga Bangla Akademi, saw Tanmoy Bose add a percussive flair to the duo's song River Maeda —Aki's composition on the namesake river.

The duo also played songs like Castle of sand, Village of Akiya — a tune which depicts the beautiful flora and fauna of Japan. However, the favourites for the evening were Boat song, Ha! and Capital of the country of the Gods — a musical tribute to writer Lafcadio Hearn. “I would love to hear the duo again and heartily wish that they visit the city soon," said Sumonto Bose, who was seen enjoying the soiree with his family members.
