Sujoy's tryst with Rabindrasangeet to release soon

Interdisciplinary artist Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee is ready to explore a new art form and what he calls his “secret passion”. He has recently recorded his debut album comprising a set of four Rabindrasangeet. As a child he went to Pramit Sen to learn Rabindrasangeet and was later trained by Lipika Ghosh for a brief stint. Sujoy, who calls himself an extended version of

, said, “I was coaxed and cajoled by my friend and acclaimed filmmaker Satrajit Sen who has produced this digital bouquet of songs. The music arrangement is by Indrajit Dey who has imbibed European music into the coundscape of this album.”

. Commenting on the production, Satrajit Sen said, “I have a legacy with music at home and spotted Sujoy’s talent in effortless and highly expressive rendition of Rabindrasangeet.” Sujoy, a little nervous and thankful, said, “I am glad that I recorded on the day of my father’s death anniversary and this is a tribute to a man who used to accompany me every Sunday to my music classes.”
