Sujoy, Jayati bring together Rabindrasangeet and world poetry

Elocutionist Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee began his annual series of cultural projects titled Soul Curry at this week with much fanfare.
The luminaries felicitated were Suvaprasanna, Srijit Mukherji, Sudeshna Roy, Riddhi Bandopadhyay, Sharbari Datta, Paramita Saha, Satrajit Sen, Sayani Datta, Barun Chanda and Supriya Roy. What followed was a unique cultural curry featuring world poetry and Rabindrasangeet by Sujoy and Jayati Chakraborty.“In one word, Jayati was fantastic. Being a poetry lover, I think reciting English poetry with perfect voice modulation is really difficult, but Sujoy has mastered the art," said Sayani Datta. Dancer-choreographer Paramita Saha said, "Soul curry reflects Sujoy's inexhaustible urge for storytelling. And in these troubled times we are in desperate need of new, meaningful, exciting and inspiring stories."
Post the programme, the select audience were seen lapping up sandwiches, pan-fried momos, kebabs and mocktails.
