, which is a serious complication, according to doctors.



The singer wrote: “Beware of Covid. It might spare ur life but it can cause irreparable damage to your vital organs without even giving any slightest hint of the complication. The last one week has given me the nightmare of my life. I was complaining of fever and malaise a couple of weeks back. GP Dr Manish Ganguly treated that with antibiotics, did some

tests

which showed no specific infections, though the crp was still higher than normal.

“Last Friday, I felt I was seeing blurred in the left eye and by Sunday 80 percent of my left eyesight was gone. just like that!!! There was no pain, no tears, only a slight feeling of heaviness in the left eye, and No vision! (sic).”



She contacted her doctor friends and upon investigations, it was found that she was suffering from VKH. “I frantically contacted one of the most well-known retina surgeons of Kolkata, Dr Abhijit Chattopadhyay, who, thankfully, also happens to be a close friend…. I was diagnosed with a rare disease called VKH (uveitis, choroditis and many other difficult to pronounce iti- s ), which causes rapid and in many cases permanent loss of eyesight. (sic),” she said, adding, “The word VV URGENT was typed in bold capital on every line of his prescription. What followed was a series of blood tests, eye angiogram, and eye surgery (vitreous tap) to extract fluid from my eyeball to determine the exact nature of disease. I still don't know what exactly the situation is, and how soon my vision will improve. Tests and multidisciplinary treatment is still on. Steroids and immunosuppressants will start ASAP. And hopefully, I can regain my full eyesight with god's will and your prayers. (sic)”
