They have been everything from friends to foes. But as they say, in showbiz, friendship is as slippery a business as enmity.
Sidhu and Pata, who were not on talking terms at one point in time in their lives, are back to being the best of collaborators. Story goes that Pata had to take a break from Cactus, led by Sidhu, to be part of Bigg Boss Bangla. That created a rift within the band and the singer was forced to move out.
Now years later, Sidhu and Pata are happily performing together on various platforms. So, what broke the ice? The song, Eso Bondhu, in
Srijit Mukherji’s Uma. The singers came together for the song after years of silence and the result was not only a hit song but also a trail of collaborations. “Our fans were keen that we come together. After Eso Bondhu, there were plenty of requests to perform together. We first performed at Burdwan Medical College, wgere the show was a mega hit. This project of ours has nothing to do with Cactus or Pata’s Moruddyan,” said Sidhu. Though some of the songs in their lineup include Cactus’ Holud Pakhi and Noah-r Nouka, the rest is what they hold close to their hearts. “We render songs that we love. It's a project that is dear to us. Together, we also understand the pulse of the audience,” said Pata.
