Savvy reunites with Insomnia band mates for new single
Bangla rock band Insomnia is all set to release their new single after regrouping post a decade-long gap. Savvy, Bodhisattwa Ghosh, Rajarshi Burman, Prasenjit Chakrabutty and the band’s manager and music producer Rahul Mehra are excited about the single, Ar Na.
The group was initially formed in 2002 and was disbanded in 2010. “This is our first release after 14 years,” said Bodhisattwa, adding, “Our last album, Proloyer Shomoye, was released on September 25, 2006 — exactly 14 years ago.

We all are looking forward to the single.”
The new song is penned and composed by Savvy. However, the band’s original vocalist, Sayantan Neogi, and drummer Rohit Nandi are not on board for the single. “We still don’t have a drummer. We have zeroed in on a few names and will announce it soon,” Bodhisattwa added.
Speaking about the band, music composer Savvy said, “Even before I became a film music composer, I was known for Insomnia. The band is like my first identity. There is an emotional bonding with the band and my mates. I am really happy that we will be able to release our new single on the same date on which we released Proloyer Shomoye. I am looking forward to it.” Savvy is also working on the background score for the Abir Chatterjee-Rukmini Maitra-starrer Switzerland and a song for a Yash-Nusrat Jahan and Mimi Chakraborty-starrer.
