Incidentally, Rupankar’s previous song ‘Hotath Ele’, had received immense love from the music lovers and he assures this song will also touch people’s hearts. “This song ‘Jabar Belae Tumi Ogo’ has a soft romantic approach. Let’s hope that the audience loves the song,” said the national award-winning singer.
Rupankar is also concerned about the current state of musicians because of the

pandemic

and its disastrous effect on the artists. He had recently posted on social media, “Musicians in a dire straits...folks can we meet and discuss for something good?

korben na pls!” and the post went viral within moments as comments poured in supporting the musicians.

“Musicians have to depend on live shows. We are talking about the dire state of people from other industries and how they are suffering 70-80% or even 100% job loss. But believe me, the situation is same for the musicians. Not only singers, everyone associated with this music industry needs attention. No stage show means no earning for most of them. The technicians are suffering the worst,”

Rupankar

shared with ETimes.

Last year we saw the emergence of

digital

concerts but Rupankar says it’s not working this year. “Digital concerts had shown us a way but it can’t be a long-term solution. Let me give you an idea. If one earns 10 rupees from a live concert he/she will get two rupees from digital concert. So it’s not working here. The number of these digital concerts has also gone down.” Added a worried Rupankar who believes the music industry in

Bengal

needs a genuine leader who can unite everyone and look for a solution to come out of this torrid time.
