Rupam Islam debuts in Telugu industry
After delivering umpteen hits in his own language, Rupam Islam has now ventured into uncharted territory.
The singer has rendered his first-ever Telugu song for AS Ravi Kumar's Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham. The song, Neeli neeli kalladana, has been composed by Anoop Rubens.
Talking about how he landed the offer, Rupam said, “I had come across Rana Majumdar while singing my second Bollywood number — Dil kare for All The Best.

He was the assistant music director in that film and we kept in touch. For this song, Anoop Rubens was looking for a fresh voice that was a combination of classical and rock. Rana sent him the online link of my song, Ei srabon, and things fell into place in no time."
Rupam went to Hyderabad for the recording and even trained under a diction expert. “There are rowdy elements in the track, which is about a guy stalking a girl. The moot point of the song is: I love you and you can't refuse me. There is a line which goes like -love me, love me, follow me. The trainer asked me to sing it like, `lau me, lau me', but I kept it as `love'. The composer had no complaints and the song was okayed," said Rupam. Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham stars Sai Dharam Tej, Regina and Jagapati Babu.
