Surodhwoni, the music school of singer Antara Chowdhury and her family jointly presented a tribute show in honour of the versatile singer

through an event, Surer Jharna on Wednesday, on her 73rd birth anniversary.Sabita was also the wife of legend musician Salil Chowdhury. On this auspicious occasion eminent artists from the city's music fraternity namely Sriradha Banerjee,Sampa Kundu,Subhankar Bhaskar, Mahasweta Banerjee and Antara Chowdhury along with the students of
Surodhwoni
performed Sabita Chowdhury's evergreen songs besides a few of
Salil Chowdhury
's creations. Haimanti Shukla,
Srikanto Acharya
and Kalyan Sen Barat graced the occasion with their august presence. The event was anchored by Debashish Basu. Songs like Bishwapita Tumi Hey Prabhu, Sarata Desh Jure Amar Ghor Bari, Surer Jharna, Dharonir Pathe Pathe and Raat Kuheli Chhorano, among others were presented. Antara, daughter of Sabita and Salil, said, " We will celebrate this day every year from this year onwards. My mother was very versatile but she was overshadowed by my genius father's multifaceted creative aspects, though my mother had a great contribution behind my father's success even in his personal life."
