Q, who by his own admission is a musician first, is set to score for a German production — Kanwal Sethi’s Once Again (working title).
Story goes that Kanwal, a German filmmaker of Indian origin, had a chance meeting with Q at Film Bazar in Goa sometime back. Q was DJing at the Tasher Desh party that evening. “Kanwal saw the video of Tasher Desh online and got curious about us.

He came down a while back in Kolkata to meet Neel Adhikari and me. Soon, things fell into place,” Q. shared when CT got in touch with the filmmaker. Ask him if the movie will feature a Gandu-like rap and Q said, “We’ll be merging different musical elements.”
Neel, who is currently part of two outfits, Gandu Circus and Neel and the Lightbulbs, said, “The soundtrack will have the best of various genres of music. I have earlier produced Rajasthani folk. Tasher Desh, for which I composed music, is all about Rabindrasangeet and I was also a part of Class Apart, which dealt with classical music. So, what I bring to the table is expected to be different. Though I have worked in mainstream Tollywood, I am more into indie films. Q and I are currently doing our research on what elements to include in this film.”
Kanwal’s last film Fernes Land (2011) was about a Pakistani hairdresser, Haroon — immigrated illegally to Germany — and Mark, a German insurance broker. Interestingly, the film starred Indian actor Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Although the duo remained tight-lipped, sources suggest, Once Again — the story of a relationship between two unlikely people — could be set in India and parts of the film might be shot in the country.
