The singer's latest album is inspired by the nostalgia of a lost childhoodPrasant A Samadhar has set a benchmark in the music industry with his mellifluous voice. Having a strong background in Hindustani classical music, he performed classical forms like tarana, bandish, thumri to the set-up of bass guitar, acoustic guitar, drums, keyboard and tabla in fusion format as early as in 1997.
Recently, Prasant launched his debut Bengali album of contemporary songs,
Ghumiyeche Sohor, with India Green Reality Pvt.Ltd. The album comprises nine tracks including one instrumental. The songs are composed and sung by Samadhar and penned by Srijato.Says Prasant
, “In our youth, we leave home at the call of a glorious career, riches and fame and get caught up in the rat race trying to make a living while forgetting to make a life. It is only when we are older and wiser that we look back and realize what we achieved came at the cost of simple pleasures, family and friends. It is this reminiscence that inspired me to conceptualize this album."The songs in the album are Dakeshechhedurejaoyar, Khulerakhachithera, Phireashesritiraseiroderameghera, Ghumerahetejaye, Rater tarae, Theme aashe keno keetajaane, Ghumiyechesohorratreenijhum and Akhonodureroyechesokal.There is a Hindi version of the song Ghumiyechesohor in the album titled Chotichoti bate, which also has a solo violin version.
