Kolkata witnessed a unique ensemble of world

poetry

at the mega event of

Chair Poetry Evenings

recently and city musician

Prajna Dutta

was thrilled to perform at the event dedicated to poetry from across the globe.

“It was an absolute honour performing as the inaugural artist and the closing artist for Chair Poetry Evening 2019 performing original songs, couplets and music in front of such amazing poets like Brian Turner, Elmar Kuipar, Sara Costa, Arundhati Subramaniam and others. Through my performance I tried to create a bridge between the spoken

and the unspoken. I would specially like to thank the organisers Mr Tushar Dhawal Singh and Sonnet Mondal and all the volunteers for putting together such a lovely platform for creative poetic exchange. For me music and poetry always go hand in hand and this festival reinstated my faith in this belief in a larger way,” shares an excited Prajna who has hand full interesting projects coming up.

Beside Prajna, at the inauguration session folk band Sahajiya also enthralled the audience with different forms of Bengali folk compositions. The daily events took place at venues such as Rathindra Mancha, Jorasanko Thakurbari and

Rabindra Bharati University

Campus.
