Musician
Prabuddha Banerjee is super-busy with
Sujan Mukherjee’s new Production, Don — Taake Bhalo Lage. Besides composing the background score and designing the sound, he is also going to play live in the first four shows of the musical. “This is my first live music composition for theatre. It has been an interesting ride with a mix of cello, mouth organ, ukulele and other instruments,” said the composer.
He has also composed the first two tracks of the play — Ei dunyay bhai shobi hoye and Bolo Ram Koho Ram.
“Sujan has penned the lyrics. The rest of the songs are written and composed by the father-son duo Arun and
Suman Mukhopadhyay. However, there is a music piece that connects with a police theme and this was composed by Sujan’s son Daayaad. I am impressed by the skills of the young one.” Daayaad is playing live in the musical.
Prabuddha’s son, Bodhisattwa, also has a part to play in Don’s music. His voice has been used as a tenor vocalist in the play —again a first.
