Musicians Shibasish, Porshia and Surjo recently joined hands to celebrate music with Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee and all their members. People from various backgrounds such as sex workers, underprivileged people and even the social workers graced the occasion celebrating the only one cause and that is music.
While speaking about the initiative an excited Shibasish shared, “Being a professional in the field of music often leads to the action of limiting music to just being just a professional tool to earn a living. I however also believe that the gift of music should be shared without having any utilitarian motive. Durbar Mahila Sammanay Samitee and its representatives had fun with my music and that was all that I wanted.
Porshia was equally thrilled to be a part of such a unique music event, “Music has been a journey and a learning process and I'm amazed at how life and music create beautiful memories and experiences. Thanks to the Durbar Mahila Samanwaya committee and Shibashish for having me onboard this noble cause where I performed a few songs for the oppressed and the outcast people of the society to spread awareness and promote good mental health and hygiene through music.”
Meanwhile, Surjo said, “Definitely a unique experience, offering a peek into the lives of the neglected and the joy they demonstrated for an experience that most of us now take for granted was heartbreaking and heartwarming all in one.
Each and everyone present at the event was pretty much excited and happy to be a part of the initiative. There were requests coming from the audience, they even participated in singing and dancing along with Shibasish, Porshia and Surjo. It was indeed a memorable experience for everyone from their own perspectives.
