While last year, the nightlong concert was designed with the theme, night. This year, the theme is Ecstatic Pain Drive.
“Last year, we all sang songs related to ‘night’. This year, we will perform pain-driven songs. It is a complete misconception that songs originated from pain have to be sad songs. For example, Chandrabindoo’s Ami Hobo Na Tomar Posha Pakhi is a pain-driven song and yet, not a sad song. All the artistes are curating many such songs,” Upal, who is also one of the curators of the show.
Besides the above-mentioned musicians, Lopamudra Mitra, Monomoy Bhattacharya, Sahana Bajpaie, Lagnajita Chakraborty, Kinjal, Jojo, Imon, Gaurab Chatterjee, Khnada and others will also perform. “This is a unique concert and I will tell you why. We have seen night-long concerts of classical music. With this concert, we realised that the audience of Bangla gaan too are willing to stay wide awake for our music. This is quite interesting. I hope this year too, we will see people enjoying every bit of this show,” Upal added.
