Multiple Grammy winner works with city talents

Multiple Grammy-winning record producer, Keith Thomas, is in Kolkata. Currently, he is working with a group of young talents from the city. Keith has produced music for Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and many more. Along with Marcus Rixon, his project partner, and Rajrup Biswas, Keith is recording songs that have tracks, which were recorded in the US.

This is Keith's second visit to Kolkata. He was also here in October last year. This time, he is in India to record with Indian artistes from Kolkata for an international project. Popular playback singers and young budding talents, including Somchanda Bhattacharya, Anwesha Dutta, Sayan Chowdhury, Arunashish Roy, Manisha Karmakar, Rik Basu, Shubham Banerjee, Aritra Banerjee and Porshia Sen, are currently recording with him at a south Kolkata studio. “It’s a collaboration of culture and great opportunities for these youngsters to build a profile by working with Keith and Marcus,” said Rajrup, who is helping them pen the lyrics.
Overall, there's a total of 40 songs that will be recorded by 12 Indian artistes over a span of two weeks. “We are carrying all the recording equipment from the USA. This is one of the major US-Indian musical collaborations in recent time,” said Marcus.

Udit Arun Saptarshi, a sound recordist and engineer from India, is helping with the recording of the songs.
