Lopamudra celebrates 30 years of singing with a concert

Lopamudra Mitra recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of her singing career with a concert at Rabindra Sadan. The concert, Gaanjibon 30, was applauded by all those who attended it.

Speaking to us about the concert, the singer said, “During the two-and-a-half-hour event, I sang 21 songs. Of these, four songs — Carpet, Chata dhoro, Amar mawte tor moton and Benimadhab — were very popular. I was astonished by the amount of love I got from the audience. They applauded every song, which is like oxygen for performers like us. After the pandemic, this was my first big stage show,” said Lopamudra.

When asked if she’ll stop doing stage shows now, Lopamudra said with a smile, “Well, I thought of taking an early retirement, but after this show, I changed my mind. I have much left to give to my audience who love me so much.”
