Shreyan Bhattacharya
has decided to take at least a year’s break from singing. Reason? Voice transition! The Midnapore boy won Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs in October, 2017, along with Anjali Gaikwad, 11, from Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. Back then, Shreyan was all of 12. The family of the talented singer moved to Mumbai after he won the national music reality show and shifted back last year so that Shreyan could complete his education from Bengal. On coming back, he lent his voice to

Maa
from Abhimanyu Mukherjee’s Googly. Talking about it, Shreyan said, “I was offered to sing Maa a few months back. Savvy da had composed it and I recorded the song. After the recording, I got very good feedback from the team. To be honest, I was a little worried about how my voice would sound as I am currently going through the transitional period, but thankfully, things fell into place and it’s turned out well.” Shreyan, who is in Class VIII, said he is all set to take a break. “The family doctor suggested that I take a break for a year and a half before getting back to singing again. Also, I am in Class VIII and studies are taking up a lot of my time. I think this break would do me good,” said the young singer. Maa, the song, features Srabanti and Soham in a sequence where they are missing their son, Googly.
Googly
is played by child artiste Soumyadipta Saha.
