street music festival

celebrating the undying spirit of

art

Musicians

from the city as well as the suburbs were a part of it. This colourful and fun-filled musical event saw people from different walks of life in performances.


For instance, Mohammad Ibran, a flute seller, Nilanjan Saha, a sandwich seller, Sourojyoti Chatterjee, a street musician who plays the violin and National Award-winning patachitra artist

Kalpana Chitrakar

performed at the music fest. Nuruddin Chitrakar sang a beautiful song on

Corona

awareness.


Subol Das Bairagya and his team rendered some soul-stirring spiritual songs. Apart from him, Anil Mahanto, who sells flute at the Dum Dum Metro station, played a few of Tagore’s compositions on the flute. That’s not it. Sidhu the frontman of

Cactus

sang their famous ‘Badhu Re’, Sourojyoti-Krishnendu known as Third Stage performed their original song.


Rocket Mandal a noted musician-composer was felicitated for his contribution to the field of popular music.


Musicians from reputed band parties, too, are set to enthrall the audience at the do. The organizers of the festival say this event is a tribute to musicians who run their livelihood by singing on the streets. The idea of the event is to celebrate life through music.
