The Australian Inter-cultural fusion music band ‘The Three Seas’ is all set to rock the stage in India with their six-city tour as a part of the Australia Fest. The musical group beautifully combines traditional baul music by West Bengal and Bangladeshi singers with western production aesthetics, contemporary Australian jazz and rock music.
The musical ensemble includes artistic director, composer and saxophonist Matt Keegan, talented singer cum virtuosic khamak player Raju Das Baul, multi-instrumentalist from Darjeeling Deoashish Mothey, renowned jazz bassist Steve Elphick and percussionist and dubki expert Gaurab Chatterjee from Kolkata.

The much-anticipated tour starts with a live performance in Kochi on December 15. The musical group will then perform in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Kalimpong and Siliguri. The Kolkata concert is scheduled to take place at the Rabindratirtha Auditorium in New Town on December 22.
Speaking about the upcoming tour Australian High Commissioner to India Harinder Sidhu said: “The Three Seas is a perfect example of cross-cultural creativity which can flourish through the unique cultural link between our people. It’s great to see Indian music lovers will get the chance to listen to their music in the Australian Fest.”
