Karma celebrated its 28th anniversary gig as part of Jamsteady on Friday. An encore after a set of 10 instrumental songs had the band obliging the audience with a few more numbers. “We did some modern variations in the tracks, but kept the originality of Karma intact,” said tabla maestro Shubhen Chatterjee.
“It is one of the most melodious concerts I have attended in recent times. All the compositions were based on unusual counts and rhythms, which made it very complex yet soothing,” said Subholina Sen. Tolly actress Rii added, “I like Jamsteady because it gives a good platform to the youngsters, who come up with unique permutations and combinations to create something new. I really hope we have more such instrumental gigs in the city.”
