Among the performing musicians are Abhimanyu Lal, Vidha Lal, Abhishek Lahiri, Sanjukta Biswas, Debasish Sarkar, Rupashree Bhattacharya, Shubh Maharaj, Suvendu Banerjee, Unmesh Banerjee, Zuheb Ahmed Khan, Sohon Ghosh, Mehtab Ali Nazi and Archik Banerjee. While all the youngsters are talented, special mention needs to be made of Kathak dancers Abhimanyu and Vidya. “They are the recipients of Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar. That apart, we also have some interesting solo recitals. That includes solo tabla recital by Archik, a solo sitar recital by Mehtab, a solo harmonium recital by Subhendu and a vocal recital by Sanjukta and sarod recital by Abhishek. Accompanying Abhishek on the tabla will be Shubh Maharaj. The latter is the grandson of Pt Kishen Maharaj,” he said.
On being asked about the reason behind organizing such a programme, he said, “As a senior musician, it is our responsibility to nurture young talents in Indian classical music. That’s why we decided to host a separate session with the young musicians and give them all the encouragement that is required for them to go forward.”

said, “Earlier on, we used to organise afestival
called Baithak. That was held for two years.
