The wedding season is on in full swing and like every year, this year too people are celebrating their wedding, anniversary and bachelorette with all pomp and show. But keeping in mind the pandemic, celebrations have become more intimate. Singer
Iman Chakraborty had a blast recently at her own bachelorette.
"It was a special day for me spent with my colleagues whom I call family.
They are my costume designers, hairdressers, makeup guy and manager. They are the backbone that help me project myself the way I do to the outer world. Also, my sister was present and breaking rules I invited my sister-in-law too who is a dear friend," Iman shared.
She celebrated the day at her Lake Gardens residence and partied till 5.30 in the morning. "I could take time out of my work schedule that day and we ordered a lot of food. There were a variety of kebabs as starters. There were Chinese dishes too and of course biryani for dinner. I love Chinese more though. I have been spoilt silly by my friends," Iman said.
The singer has been shopping for the D-day since sometime now. When asked how does her wedding trousseau look, Iman said, "The wedding day sari and my fiance Nilanjan's attire is my good friend and designer
Abhishek Roy's responsibility. I am not even allowed to speak or butt in his decision. But we have been to Benaras too for some shopping. And my mother had kept the jewellery ready. I added some to that collection."
Iman is skipping most of the rituals though there will be a social marriage on February 2. "The registry will be on a different date than the social marriage. We are only going for sindoor daan. The jogyo, saath paak ghora and others will not happen. We are still drawing up the guest list and have invited with cards," she said.
On the professional front, Iman has her hands full with live performances, TV shows and covers. "I did a cover recently with an AR Rahman song, Nahin Samney Tu, from Taal. It received an overwhelming response. Nilanjan and I are busy with our individual work but what we are focusing on the most is our production wherein we are introducing a new singing talent every month. So far, we have brought to the fore seven such budding singers," Iman informed.
