, is gearing up to perform in Kolkata soon. The US-based musician will be performing along with pianist Utsav Lal at a city auditorium by the end of this month.Hidayat has seamlessly blended the traditional legacy of his father with contemporary music. Along with his band, Vinyl Kut, he has created a track, Back Seat Bass, which blends a bass duet with the sitar. He is currently creating 12 songs with the band that will be released over the next 12 months — one new track every month.

, Jay Z and Darryl Jones.Naturally, Hidayat’s music has been praised all over the world. He is one of the rare sitarists, who add voice to his performances. He worked with Danish Hussain in a musical theatre that was staged first in April 2019 in New York City.His group album Melodic Intersect was included in Grammy Ballot for the best World Music Album since 2016. The ensemble’s recent sold-out concert at the Indo-Jazz festival at The Jazz at Lincoln Center was lapped up by the audience.
