City-based folk band Fakira is all set to perform at a cultural fair in Bishnupur today. This is the band’s eighth outstation show in this year. The band comprises Timir Biswas, Kunal Biswas, Chayan, Avirup Das and Apurba.
Talking to us about live gigs, Kunal, the band’s manager and bassist, said, “Performing at live events again has breathed new life into our work.
With the lifting of Covid restrictions, things are slowly returning to normal and we are also getting calls for a lot of outstation shows. The audience turn out is impressive and everyone is enjoying the live shows. We recently performed an unplugged show at Bolpur at the Sikkim Utsav organised by EZCC. It was a new experience for us and we enjoyed it as much as our fans did.”
Echoing similar thoughts, Chayan, the band’s guitarist, said, “I am very excited about today’s show in Bishnupur. It’s a historic place and known as the land of terracotta works in West Bengal. The venue is beautiful and we will perform our best for the people there.”
