Drummer Sambit is having a gala time creating music and trekking in Himachal

Drummer Sambit

, son of percussionist

Pt Subhen Chatterjee

, was in Goa for over a month. Giving him company for a few days was his actress-fiancé Chitrangada Satarupa.

Sharing details with us, Sambit said, “I was in Goa along with my band, as we were preparing for our new album. Post my stay in Goa, I was supposed to head to

Kasol

in

Himachal Pradesh

to play a solo set at a music fest. I was extremely nervous about my performance, because I was going to play my original music set for the first time in front of a live audience. But upon reaching there, we got to know that the festival was cancelled due to some issues with the local municipality. It was disappointing.”

However, Sambit decided to stay back in Himachal Pradesh and is presently enjoying a trekking trip there. On being quizzed about the type of music he’s working on, Sambit said, “This music is inspired by everything I’ve heard in my life so far. It is inspired by my father’s tabla and rhythm lessons, and all sorts of music starting from progressive rock to classical to Rabindranath to metal and fusion. It’s what I hear in my head. For this set, I’m planning to play alone with my drums and keyboards.”
