‘Do not panic’, musician Joy Sarkar requests fans

The musician started his morning with usual chores. “I went for my usual walk around Southern Avenue lake area. I had a cup of morning tea, like I always do. Interestingly, I found deserted streets. There was no walker today. It is because of the alarm that the media has set since a few days,” he said.
But aren’t you scared? “Of course I am. But I can’t lock myself up in a room and not do what I am supposed to do. When the storm will hit the city, I am sure it will be very scary. But what is the point in panicking?” Joy said.
The musician is currently composing the background score of Indrasis Acharya’s upcoming film, Parcel. “I am working on the background score of the film,” he said. Earlier, actresses Rituparna Sengupta and Sreela Majumder recorded two songs for the film, in which the duo play prominent characters. Joy, the director’s long-time associate, recorded the two songs in February at a city studio. While Rituparna sang a popular folk song, Brindabono Bilashini, Sreela rendered a Rabindrasangeet, Amar Raat Pohalo Sharodoprate.
