Daboo Malik: Bengalis have a strong melodic heritage

Noted music composer Daboo Malik has released his debut Bengali song ‘Na Bola Kotha’ as an independent music composer. The song has been beautifully rendered by Sriijiit while lyrics are by Lipi. The soulful song has been picturized on the city of joy Kolkata.
Speaking about his debut in popular Bengali music scene Daboo Malik said he always felt melodious music was appreciated by Bengali audiences always.“Bengalis have strong melodic heritage and making a song in Bengali for Bengal music lovers was a challenge. I knew it was not going to be easy at all. Na Bola Kotha is my first humble offering to popular Bengali music scene," shared the noted composer in an exclusive chat with ETimes.

So, how it all started? “One afternoon I was chatting with Sriijiit who sang my very first Hindi film song in Maine Dil Tujhko Diya and we said we should do something together as he struggled a lot, worked very hard and I felt he deserved to sing for Hindi but suddenly Na Bola Kotha happened and I was very excited after hearing his voice. So here we are and I am really looking forward for making more music in Bengali films too. Maa is blessing us this month. Hope she showers her blessings on this song too," said Daboo.

Singer Sriijiit said: "This is really a soulful song. I hope people would love to listen to it time and again for it's melodious tune and meaningful lyrics by Lipi. I enjoyed singing it."
