City composer journey to Bollywood
Composer and singer Rangon Chatterjee is on cloud nine. He has recently made a mark with his composition in Armaan Malik’s newly released single, Tootey Khaab. The song has been appreciated widely on social media. Rangon — a city musician, who is currently residing in Mumbai —has composed the song along with Kunaal Vermaa, who also penned the lyrics.

“It is a heart break song. It was uploaded last month and has already crossed 31 million views on YouTube,” Rangon told us. The musician started off with the song, Phir Mulaaqat, for the film Cheat India starring Emraan Hashmi.
Rangon kickstarted his musical journey with the Bengali band Eeshaan. “I was not part of the iconic song, Shyamaprasad, but started working with them from the second album, Girgiti. I was working on music production and while doing that I went to Mumbai for a film song. I met Kunaal and he asked me to move to Mumbai. And I did,” he said.
Besides is love for Bollywood, Rangon has been equally spirited about his endeavour of independent music. Some of the songs that he has composed have been Naa Samajh. Along with this Rangon Chatterjee has also composed for a couple of hit Bangla projects giving him a good fan base even in Kolkata. “I learnt singing from my uncle, Rahul Chatterjee. I also learnt piano from school. I have been composing music for a while now and started tasting real success after working in Cheat India,” the musician signed off.
