Drummer Sambit Chatterjee, son of well-known percussionist Pt Subhen Chatterjee, is not in a mood to celebrate his birthday today. Sharing the reason, he said, “Everyone in my family is very upset ever since my Mesho has been hospitalised. He is on the ventilator. So, yesterday, we were at the hospital for the entire day. And today, I cancelled all my birthday plans, as I am really upset.”
Sambit got engaged to actress and long-time girlfriend
Chitrangada Satarupa a few months back in Kolkata in the presence of close friends and family. We asked him whether he has plans of catching up with her today. “We might have a brief meeting as she is supposed to come to my place. In the morning she was busy as she had elections in her area and went to cast her vote. She is very upset due to the crisis situation in my family, and has been a pillar of support for all of us in such trying times,” he added.
The drummer also told us about his birthday resolution for this year. He said, "I want to be a better person, more giving and understanding. I also hope that the human race across the world overcomes the dark time that we are going through. I would urge everyone to follow the COVID protocols and sincerely do our bit to curb the pandemic.”
