Bickram Ghosh gets emotional

It was an emotional moment for Bickram Ghosh recently. On the third death anniversary of his father, Pt Shankar Ghosh, the legend’s statue was installed in front of his ancestral house in Bagbazar. “The statue was officially unveiled in November and it has been finally installed here. It’s a very special moment for me as well as the world of tabla, as not many tabla players have received such honour.My father was one of the first few professional tabla players and his journey was full of challenges,” said Bickram Ghosh.
Earlier, Bickram had posted on Facebook, “Baba’s beautiful statue now is permanently situated near his baghbazaar house. Respected Minister Smt.Shashi Panja inaugurated it ! It is a fitting tribute to the great work for tabla that Pandit Shankar ghosh did (sic).”
