Anushka Sharma’s

Pari

seems to be celebrating all things Bengali. Directed by a Bengali — Prosit Roy — its cast also has two faces from Bengali cinema, Parambrata Chatterjee and Ritabhari Chakraborty. It’s well known that the film was shot in Kolkata and has music by Anupam Roy. Now it has emerged that two other Bengali artistes’ works are also being celebrated through the film. Rajkumar Sengupta

and Arko — came up with a song called Loke bawle and it’s now part of Pari’s soundtrack. Rajkumar wrote to us, “Loke bawle is a Bengalis folk song produced by me. Both Arko and I are happy that it’s been used in a Bollywood film.”
