Baul meets rap and gets infused with guitar strokes in musician Ritaprabha Ratul Ray, rapper Cizzy and Baul musician Raju Das Baul’s new song, Rango Koro Na. Incepted during the second wave last year, the soulful song talks about the heartbreaking days of the pandemic.
“During the second wave, I was in Mumbai and all sorts of disturbing reports kept coming in.
The pictures that I saw then inspired me to make this song. I spoke with cizzy in Mumbai and Raju Das Baul in Bolpur, and together we created the song sitting at different locations,” Ratul told us. They shot the video in Bolpur. Through the song, all three genres of music beautifully converge and talk about the pressing socio-political issues.
“It took us a while to put things together as we were in different locations. We first met for the song on the day of shoot. After the song was recorded, I took time to do the music production, alongside my other professional commitments. This is a song that came from our hearts and we are very proud of it,” said Ratul.
