Artistes across borders gear up for a fundraising concert
It started with the thought to help the daily-wage earners of the live event industry during the lockdown due to the pandemic. However, with the cyclone Amphan's devastation, All For Bengal has grown into a far bigger endeavour to reach out to a large number of people of Bengal. A brainchild of Rupam Islam and Rupsha Dasgupta, the event will feature Aparna Sen, Anjan Dutt, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Usha Uthup, Lou Majaw, Luke Kenny, Parikrama, Arman Malik and several others.
Elaborating the endeavour, Rupsha said, “We initially thought of stitching all the videos and uploading it at one go. But given the large number of artistes who have joined in, we have decided to break it in parts. We are working with an NGO and so far raised about Rs1.6 lakh. Given the horrible internet bandwidth, we are planning to start uploading the event from second week of June. As of now, Rupam and I are working along with Kinjal Bhattacharya on the project.”
So far, the confirmed performers are
