Arko Pravo Mukherjee is in Kolkata

Arko Pravo Mukherjee is currently in Kolkata for a show. The composer-singer said he is extremely busy with a number of projects, including a Bengali films.

, he told us, “I have always wanted to work in Bengal mostly because of my roots here and my love for the language. I have grown up in a Bengali family and spent most of my life here. So, no wonder I want to create songs in Bengali as well."

After working in 28 Hindi movies, Arko made his Tollywood debut with Jeet and Koel Mullick-starrer Shesh Theke Shuru. So, he wanted all the songs of this film to be extra special. And as per his expectations, two songs from the film --- Mon Amar and Madhubala --- became huge hits.

The first song of the Raj Chakrabarty film, Mon Amar, reached two million views on YouTube within 10 days of its release. The song, which was penned by Pranjol, was released on April 25 and within 10 days, secured 26,19,134 views. In the video, Jeet and Koel can be seen cosying up on the romantic track.

When we asked Arko about the secret behind the resounding success of the song, he said that it was his first Bengali composition and he hadn’t expected it to become so popular this quickly. Though he knew the song was good, but the kind of feedback it has received has surprised him.
Speaking about his relationship with Jeet, the singer-composer said, “Jeet and my friendship goes back 10 years or more. And Shesh Theke Shuru is his 50th film. So, I wanted to make the songs of this film even more special. I’m glad that people are liking these songs and I’m sure even the film will do well at the box office.”
