Anupam’s dreamy, magical love song ‘Darun’ talks about longing and unattainable love

Anupam Roy is all set to release his next, a dreamy, magical, sentimental, and love song titled ‘Darun’. Composed, rendered and written by the National Award-winning singer himself, the song shows the protagonist and his team entering an antic house where they come across a photograph of a beautiful woman. The music video features Anupam and Sauraseni Maitra. This is the first time the model-actress has worked with the ace singer-composer.

The melodious song, an Indo-Western fusion, talks about un-attainable love. Despite knowing that this love is not real, the video showcases how the seeker satisfies his desire in seeking something that is quintessential to being like a mirage, a dream, and completely not reachable. The realization that the beautiful woman is unattainable yet the satisfaction in the chase and longing have been aptly depicted in the music video.

The song also reflects the concept of longing, un-attainable love, and restlessness in the chase for your love.
Speaking about his latest song, an excited Anupam shares, "Darun is a song that talks about the relationship between a poet and his muse. It’s mainly the poet’s imagination that makes his muse so special. But, there is a catch. The poet feels that he should not confuse reality with his imagination. “Ja bojha jaay na, Ja pawa jaay na, ja chhowa jaay na” - that is Darun.”
The song is set to release on July 4 and will be available across all leading digital platforms.
