A musical evening with ‘Lopamudra and Different Soul Mates’

For the first time, Lopamudra Mitra collaborated with three renowned musicians from three different genres, to deliver a beautiful unplugged performance recently at ICCR. ‘Lopamudra and Different Soul Mates’ is a unique initiative, it’s an experiment to express your souls through music.
The three different musicians from completely different genres were Chayan Chakrobarty who began his career as a percussionist and now is a popular composer and lead guitarist of ‘Fakira’. Soumyajyoti Ghosh is another renowned wind instruments player. He is a well known face in Indian classical music arena and has been a key figure in Bengali film industry for the past 15 years. The third musician Percussionist Somnath Roy accompanied for Grammy nominated album ‘Om Namah Narayana’ in 2010. He is the only Bengali ghatam player.
The music lovers of the city witnessed a soulful musical evening which revealed several layers of Indian music. There was also a different shade of Lopamudra Mitra with a completely different concept. The musical show managed to bridge the gap between traditional and experimental music which every music lover loves to listen.
