’s music institute hosted a show to mark the first anniversary celebration of the institute recently at

. The event was titled

Surer Jharna

. Salil Chowdhury, Antara’s father, who was a class composer-lyricist known for his songs on mass movements, non-film Bengali songs and also film songs. He had composed many songs for children known as ‘chhotoder gaan’ mostly rendered by Antara.

Songs like O Ayre Chhute Aay Pujor Gandho Esechhe, Bulbul Pakhi Moyna Tiye, Ekka Dokka Tekka, Ek Je Chhilo Machhi and others have been a part of our growing up years. At the event, Antara and her students performed those popular chhotoder gaan created by the

musical genius
