The Association of Professional Performing Singers (APPS) recently organized a gala musical event called ‘
Chalachhitre Rabindranath
’ at Mahajati Sadan.
Rabindra Sangeets have been used in so many Bengali films for ages and the event saw 225 professional singers rendering some of the iconic Tagore songs. One of the biggest highlights of the program was the fact that the singers sung in such a way that it lip synced with the actors who sang on screen.
Some of the songs that were performed at the event were Aguner Poroshmoni (Latthi), Ami Chini Go Chini (Charulata), Bhalobashi Bhalobashi (Shet Patharer Thala), Ami Pothbhola Ek Pothik (Mon Niye), Sraboner Dharar Moton (Alo) and many more.
“Bengalis cannot stay without
Rabindranath Tagore. We need him to express love, despair and many other emotions. This is a great initiative by APPS as so many professional singers will be lending their voices to the songs” said Jojo.
