Short film adaptation of Shesher Kobita in the works
Obosesher Golpo is a short film by Ananjan Majumdar. The story is an imaginary extension of Shesher Kobita of Tagore. The story primarily revolves around two young couple and the primary characters of the celebrated novel. When Labanya and Sovonlal meet each other after a gap of 25 years, what will be their equation like? Will they just pretend to be normal while a strong undercurrent of bitterness flow within? Will they deny that they were once acquaintances? Will they stop further connection? Or will they take the best from life and move on? This film not only takes the admirers of Sesher Kobita back to the pages of one of the greatest novels in literature but gets developed as an independent story accepting the tragedy and challenges of life and shows a way to move beyond it all.

The film will see Anjana Basu as Labanya, Bidipta Chakraborty as Ketaki, Badsha Maitra as Sovonlal, Soubhari Chatterjee as Sparsho and Aratrika Sen as Palok. The background score and music is by Gaandharva. “I enjoyed playing Labanya. It is a dream role for any actress. Shesher Kobita is one of my favourite novels. This is my first work with Bidipta and I enjoyed every bit of it,” said Anjana.
