Till now, we have watched movies, listened to poems, and attended webinars and film fests – all through the online platform. And now, it’s time to see a play in digital format. Yes, and that, too, the digital adaption of Rabindranath Tagore’s iconic The Post Office.
Whole 9 Yards, joined hands with Alliance française du Bengale, presented the very first digital musical play, The Post Office on Sunday on Offbeat’s’ Zoom account at 5 pm and 8 pm.
Adapted and directed by
Abhrajit Sen, the play stars
Rwitobroto Mukherjee as Amol and
Shantilal Mukherjee as Thakurda. The play also features Unmesh Ganguly, Supratim Sinha, Debopriyo Mukherjee, Tanika Basu,
Suhotra Mukhopadhyay and Soumyadeep Chakraborty in different characters.
In a message to the audience, Abhrajit earlier said, “Join us, as we push the envelope in this quarantine to bring you a musical drama by Tagore. For even the caged bird sings sweetly,” referring to the current situation.
