Her last Bengali film was ‘Hello Memsaheb’ way back in 2011 and after a gap of almost a decade Priyanka Trivedi is returning to Tollywood with
Sagnik Chatterjee’s upcoming film ‘Master Angshuman’.
Speaking about her character in the film and what made her say yes to Sagnik’s offer, the actress said: “In the film I play Madhabi Sen, an actress who is coming back to films after several years. I could relate to the character well since I am making a comeback in Tollywood too. I will be sporting two looks as there will be a film-within-a-film format. Sagnikda made me delve into the character so that I can prepare myself from right now. As an artiste, it was extremely satisfying for me to work with this directorial team. The happiest part was I could speak Bangla throughout the look test, which I miss now!
She adds the look test for ‘Master Angshuman’ was a fun ride and a special one. “I had come to Kolkata for the look test and that’s what made my homecoming even more special. Master Angshuman is adapted from
Satyajit Ray’s story of the same name. The film is a tribute to Ray on his birth centenary, which itself is a great honour. We had done the look test at Rituparno Ghosh’s house, which was a huge bonus for me!”
