Be it ‘Apur Sansar’, ‘Aranyer Din Ratri’ or ‘Barnali’, the handsome Soumitra Chatterjee gave a tough fight to legendary actor Uttam Kumar as he dazzled his best with a charming Sharmila Tagore by his side. One of the most successful onscreen jodis of Bengali cinema, Koel Mallick and Jeet Madnani are regarded as superstars in their own right. Even the fans once gave them the sweet nickname ‘Jeko’. Koel and Jeet also has a great off-screen chemistry which reflected on the celluloid and the cinelovers never getting enoughof her acting. Subhashree Ganguly and Dev Adhikari

Rituparna Sengupta and Prosenjit Chatterjee

The inseparable screen duos of the 90s, who parted ways after ‘Jamaibabu Zindabad’ in 2001, had gifted some smashing hits at the box office. There was no such formal announcement on the surprising breakup of the pair, but it was clear Prasenjit and Rituparna were not interested in working with each other anymore. It took 15 long years to bring back the jodi as they played the lead characters in 2016 hit ‘Praktan’. They are once again teaming up for Kaushik Ganguly’s next movie ‘Dristikone’.
