For Ena Saha, mental well-being is as important

Bipasha Basu used to be her fitness idol. But Ena decided to take the Vidya Balan route soon after. In a quick chat, she tells us why.
She made a mark with films like Bojhena Shey Bojhena, Chirodini Tumi Je Amar 2 and the more recent Britto. Tolly's latest kid-on-the-block Ena tells CT how mental well-being is as important to her as physical health.

Tell us about your training schedule.
I'm a very laidback person. But when I exercise, I try to con centrate on both my mental and physical health. I do meditation, yoga, skipping, free-hand exercises, swimming and dancing. But what I do depends on my mood.
How many hours do you exercise?
It comes to two-and-a-half to three hours. But when I feel lazy, it's way lesser.

Tell us about your average daily food intake.
I start my day with a glass of luke warm water with honey and lemon. Ma then makes me a drink with methi and mouri. I drink one glass of aloe vera juice after that. For breakfast, I have two egg whites, one brown bread, one glass of fruit juice and a glass of chhatu.Throughout the day, I eat something or the other every hour. It's generally boiled chicken and veggies for lunch and I have rice with it at times. However, I never compromise on my evening snacks. I love to cook. So when I have time, I make custard or pudding or noodles with cheese. For dinner, it's just a glass of milk.

Do you also have cheat days?
At least once a week. That day, I have everything from cheese and soft drinks to ice creams and chocolates. I have a sweet tooth. So, I need at least two sweets (either rosogolla or gulab jamun) after a good meal. I like sweets so much that I often put sugar in noodles!

Do you have any fitness idol?
Initially, when I started exercising, Bipasha exercising, Bipash Basu was my idol. But later, when I wanted to follow her diet chart, I realized she survives only on karela juice and doesn't eat much. So I thought it's better to be Vidya Balan than Bipasha. After that, I drew up my own diet chart.
