Suman Mukhopadhyay has come up with a unique documentary called
Kolkata 2070
, which will be screened this evening at
Alliance française du Bengale.
The film is about the city, which may sink 50 years down the line if action is not taken collectively as well as individually by citizens. The docu that aims at sensitising the citizens about environment gives out a strong message. What’s more, it opens with an imaginary scene of the city submerged in neck-deep water in 2070 and residents, with their heads barely out of the water, lamenting the loss of the city they have grown up in. The
screening
of the film will be followed by a question and answer session with the producers of the documentary.
