Why Amrita spends her free time on the shooting floor!

The actress is in the august company of some of the country’s best actors like Soumitra Chatterjee and Naseeruddin Shah. “I had to prep up for the role as there are tigers and lions all around,” she said, tongue firmly in cheek. Amrita said even though both Soumitra and Naseeruddin play rival lawyers, they are completely different when it comes to their acting styles.“Soumitrada’s character is more flamboyant and dramatic, while Naseer saab’s quite subdued. Due to his health issues, Soumitrda can’t shoot for long hours, but he is totally in character when on the sets. Naseer saab, on the other hand, stays on the shooting floor even when he is not acting. He gives cues to his co-actors. He is a thorough professional. Initially, we were all afraid of him, we didn’t know if we could at all approach him, but it has been an amazing experience,” she said. Amrita said when the director says cut a minute after the scene has ended, actors usually don’t know what to do, but Naseer saab carries on. “When a scene ends, we actors usually stare at the director prompting him to say cut. But it’s not the case with him. He remembers all his lines by heart, not just of one scene, but all scenes. Right now, we are shooting for the court scene where all the actors are required. But even when I don’t have a shoot, I spend time on the shooting floor, because there’s just so much to learn,” she said.
