When Rituparna had an unexpected guest

It was a rendezvous to remember for filmmaker, film archivist and restorer Shivendra Singh Dungarpur. He was in Kolkata on Friday and caught up with actress Rituparna Sengupta for an interaction at a city hotel. Dungarpur explained the importance of film preservation to the star and spoke at length about the seven-day workshop that he will soon be holding on film restoration in November. Rituparna was touched by his concern and assured all cooperation from her side. She also suggested that Dungarpur restores a few of Uttam Kumar’s classics, which are with Shilpi Sansad. Rituparna is the current president of Shilpi Sansad and happens to remain actively involved with the welfare of the film industry.
