When Q laid his cards on the table

Supermodel Tinu Verghese plays Patralekha in Tasher Desh; Susheela Raman records Gopono kathati
When Q laid his cards on the table
When Anurag Kashyap and Q are involved in a project, you can be sure of something special. Thats precisely why one hopes for an interesting lineup for Qs adaptation of Tagores Tasher Desh.
Now, the director has revealed that supermodel Tinu Verghese will be cast as Patralekha and Susheela Raman and Sam Mills are recording for the movies soundtrack.
1x1 polls

Ask Q about the final cast of his movie and he says, While Rii will play Haratani, Tinu will play Patralekha. Kanti (from the Tin Can theatre group), who is now in London, will play Rajputra. Anubrata Basu and Joyraj Bhattacharya - both were part of Gandu, will play Saudagarputra and Tasheder Raja respectively. Tillotama Shome has been finalized for the queens part. Arijit Dutta (Dadul) is playing the king.
If the cast is exciting, those involved in the films music are no less interesting. After watching a trailer of Gandu, Susheela and Sam got in touch with me. They were kicked about my work. While that was flattering, I decided to involve them in TD. Asian Dub Foundation, the British electronica band, is also doing one number for the film.
Qs adaptation has 19 songs and Susheela was in town to record Patralekhas number - Gopono kathati robena gopone. Sam has played the guitar for Haratanis song. Anusheh Anadil from Bangladesh is singing all the numbers for Haratani. Neel Adhikari is the project producer, while his cousin, Miti Adhikari, is working on the post-production of the tracks, the director says.
Shooting for this Bengali film will begin in Sri Lanka in the second week of October. The Kolkata leg of filming will start in November.
